Pre-Employment Requirements
1. Determining Eligibility

Be at least 18 years of age

Possess a high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED)

Possess a valid Driver’s License
-
Possess a valid Louisiana Professional License/Certificate, when necessary

2. Criminal Background Check
Applicants must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check through the Louisiana State Police, as required by state law. Currently, we have partnered with the Tangipahoa and St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Offices to fulfill this requirement using their Live Scan System.

3. Diana Screen
Applicants must complete a Diana Screen. The Diana Screen is an easy-to- use, pre-hire/volunteer risk management screen that keeps youth safe from sexual abuse and sexual boundary violations. It is a computerized test that takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and is administered by the Human Resources department of the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center. 4. Physical Health Screen
Applicants must complete a basic health assessment/questionnaire with the Ochsner Occupational Health Clinic in Covington, Louisiana.

5. Drug Screen
Applicants must submit to, and satisfactorily complete, a drug screen.
​
6. Physical Fitness Test (for direct care staff only)
All direct-care staff must successfully complete a pre-employment physical fitness exam and participate in the center’s annual Physical Fitness Standards Testing. The Physical Fitness Standards test is divided into three components:
