Norleidy was born in Cuba, where she lived with her family, until they migrated to the United States when she was seven years old. They lived in the Sunshine State of Florida until 2008 when they relocated to the New Orleans area. After the move, she pursued her life-long love of business and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Eager to continue her education, she enrolled in Louisiana State University and obtained a Master’s Degree in Human Resources and Leadership Development.
Originally, her career began with a focus on the establishment of recruitment and staff management processes, but quickly grew to include other key areas of management. After accepting appointment as Senior HR Generalist to a public agency of New Orleans, Norleidy was able to support and lead significant revisions to a variety of Human Resources functions including benefits administration, policy development, and HRIS management.
Continuing her career in the non-profit sector, Norleidy was honored to lead one of New Orleans’ largest charter school organizations. She served as Human Resources Manager overseeing 6 large charter schools and more than 500 employees city-wide. While in this role, Norleidy increased the HR Departments efficiency by streamlining on-boarding practices, introducing a benefits administration system, restructuring employee relations procedures and revising worker’s compensation procedures.
In 2015, Norleidy joined the Florida Parishes team as Director of Human Resources and oversees staff management, benefit administration, and payroll.
Norleidy now lives on the Northshore. She loves spending time with her family, and is a huge sports fan. When she is not working, she is usually found cheering on her two boys playing ball at a local park. As a proud Cuban-American, she loves sharing her rich culture with others, and is bilingual.
