The staff of Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center recently hosted a food drive to benefit the Tangi Food Pantry of Hammond, LA The Detention Center has been a long-time contributor to the non-profit food bank, annually donating fresh produce grown by the juvenile residents as part of a restorative-justice approach in encouraging community activism. The drive was organized into a competition between the various teams and departments of the Center, and added excitement to the collection process. After counting hundreds of food items it was determined that the employees of D Team were official winners of the 2012 Food Drive. Congratulations D Team! In very close standing, C Team members were awarded second place for their generous contributions. The Detention Center is extremely proud and grateful to have a multitude of employees eager and willing to support such a worthy cause. We owe a special thank you to all employees for making this year’s food drive a great success! We look forward to continuing our support of the Tangi Food Pantry and helping to feed families in our local communities.
