Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center

FPJDC is Growing

In March of 2010, the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center broke ground on a facility expansion and campus improvements to existing facilities.

The Garden

Each year countless youth volunteer their free time to cultivate and harvest a large-scale vegetable garden on the grounds of FPJDC. All fresh produce is donated to the Tangi Food Pantry throughout the harvesting season. It is then distributed to families in need within the local community.

Employee of the Quarter

Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center is pleased to announce that Brandon Cohea has been selected as Employee of the Quarter.

  • Welcome

The mission of the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center is to provide a safe and restrictive environment for juveniles requiring secure residential detention and to insure that those detained will be available for scheduled court hearings.

The atmosphere of the detention facility shall be such that the youth will not be physically, emotionally or psychologically injured or damaged by the detention experience. The programs in the detention plan shall be developed to meet every youth's physical, emotional, religious, educational and social needs.

The youth's medical, dental and mental health needs will be handled as necessary on an emergency or immediate care basis. The detention program shall facilitate a continuum of care by providing necessary referrals for follow-up services.
